The Tuesday evening problem
Tuesday evening, judo class in Modena. The register is paper. The bookings are a WhatsApp thread. Each athlete’s training programme lives in its own Excel file on the coach’s laptop. Payments? A mix of cash in an envelope and “ti pago la prossima volta.”
This isn’t a badly run club. This is how most gyms and studios in Italy actually operate — including excellent ones with hundreds of members. I know because I’ve spent years on both sides of that register: as a judoka and instructor holding the paper, and as an engineer who kept thinking this should not be this hard. That’s why we’re building Selvatic Move.
Because the other side is just as broken. You’re in a new city, or curious about that boxing gym near your office — try answering two basic questions: when are the classes, and what does one cost? Nine times out of ten, you can’t. The schedule is a photo on Instagram from March. The price requires a phone call. So you don’t go.
Move fixes both sides at once
Move is a booking platform for fitness classes, live now at move.selvatic.studio. For anyone training: search your city by discipline and date, see real schedules with real prices, and book in seconds — no subscription, no password, no app to install. Sign in with a magic link or Google, pay by card, prepaid credit, a class pack, or simply cash at the door. Waitlists promote you automatically. Cancel free within the club’s window. And the workouts your coach assigns you live in the app — not buried in a chat.
For clubs, Move is the whole toolkit in one place: publish your schedule, set your own prices, capacity and cancellation policy per class, assign training materials to a person, a session or an entire course, collect trial-lesson leads by email, and even split revenue automatically with your professionals. Card payments land directly in your own Stripe account — you’re the seller, not us.
A model with no fixed fees
The model is deliberately simple: no fixed fees, no activation cost, no monthly subscription — for anyone. We take a small commission on card transactions only. Everything else carries none: prepaid credit — a balance you top up with a specific club and then spend on their classes — costs nothing to spend, and cash collected directly at the club is simply recorded through Move, with no commission at all. You pay when you sell, full stop.
Built with real clubs
We built Move with our anchor clubs, JustMove and JustDo in Modena — a training and rehabilitation studio and a judo club with several locations across the city — so every feature answers a real operational need, not a pitch deck. Small clubs with big member lists were the design target, not an afterthought.
The public platform — and yours
Move is the public platform — open, shared, start today for free. But the same engine can run your platform: a dedicated, white-label deployment on your own domain, with your brand. If that’s you, talk to us.
Make it easy. That’s the whole idea.
